It Starts With a Lemonade Stand. It Can Lead Anywhere.

As parents, we spend a lot of time thinking about what our children will need to succeed in the future.

A good education. Strong values. Confidence. Communication skills. Financial knowledge. The ability to solve problems.

But there is something else that may be just as important:

The ability to see an opportunity—and believe they can do something about it.

That is the entrepreneurial mindset.

And that is what makes Lemonade Day so powerful.

More Than Selling Lemonade

At first glance, a lemonade stand seems simple.

Make lemonade. Set up a table. Sell a few cups.

But look a little closer at what a child actually has to do.

They have to come up with an idea.

They have to make a plan.

They have to think about costs and pricing.

They have to decide how to attract customers.

They have to communicate with people they may not know.

They have to solve problems when something doesn't go according to plan.

And at the end of the day, they get to look at something they created and say:

“I did that.”

That feeling matters.

Lemonade Day was created around experiential entrepreneurship—giving young people the opportunity to actually start, own, and operate a business.

The lessons include budgeting, setting financial goals, customer service, repaying investors, saving, giving back, problem-solving and more.

These aren't just business skills.

They're life skills.

Children Need More Than Information. They Need Guidance.

Our children are growing up with access to more information than any generation before them.

With technology and AI, they can get answers to almost anything in seconds.

But having access to answers isn't the same as knowing what to do with them.

Young people still need parents, mentors, teachers and role models who can ask questions, provide encouragement, share experiences and help them navigate decisions.

That's why mentorship is such an important part of the Lemonade Day experience.

Parents aren't simply watching from the sidelines.

We get to participate in the journey.

We can help our children think through their ideas without making every decision for them.

We can let them make mistakes.

We can ask, “What do you think we should do?”

We can celebrate the wins.

And when something doesn't work, we can help them discover one of entrepreneurship's most important lessons:

Try again.

Entrepreneurship Builds Confidence Through Action

Confidence isn't something we can simply tell our children to have.

It grows through experience.

A child who approaches their first customer may be nervous.

The tenth conversation becomes easier.

By the fiftieth, something may have changed.

They begin to realize:

“I can talk to people.”

“I can solve problems.”

“I can make money from an idea.”

“I can create something people value.”

That realization can follow a child far beyond Lemonade Day.

Lemonade Day reports strong outcomes among participants in areas including communication, problem-solving, self-esteem, financial goal-setting, saving and philanthropy.

But perhaps the biggest lesson is something that is difficult to measure:

possibility.

When children discover that they can turn an idea into something real, the world begins to look different.

And Then There Is Connection

We believe there is another powerful ingredient in developing young entrepreneurs:

community.

Imagine what happens when a child doesn't experience entrepreneurship alone.

They meet another young entrepreneur.

They see another lemonade stand and discover a completely different approach.

They hear from a local business owner who once started with a small idea of their own.

Parents meet other parents who are encouraging the same curiosity in their children.

Mentors share experiences.

Business leaders open doors.

Ideas get exchanged.

Friendships develop.

And suddenly Lemonade Day becomes more than an activity.

It becomes a network of people helping young people dream bigger.

That's Why We're Building the Lemonade Day Community

We want the Lemonade Day experience to extend beyond a single stand or a single day.

Our community will be a place where parents, young entrepreneurs, mentors, educators, business leaders and supporters can stay connected.

We'll use the community to share activities, learning opportunities, upcoming events, entrepreneurial challenges, stories, resources and opportunities to connect with others.

Most importantly, we'll create opportunities for our young entrepreneurs to learn from people.

Because sometimes one conversation can change the direction of a child's life.

A business owner might inspire a new idea.

Another young entrepreneur might become a collaborator.

A mentor might ask exactly the right question.

A parent might discover a new way to encourage their child's curiosity.

We don't know which connection will matter.

That's exactly why we want to create more of them.

Parents, We Invite You to Participate

Lemonade Day isn't just an opportunity for our children.

It's an opportunity for us.

It's a chance to spend time together working toward something real.

To talk about money.

To talk about customers.

To talk about responsibility.

To talk about generosity.

To talk about failure.

To talk about dreams.

And instead of simply telling our children what entrepreneurship means, we can help them experience it.

So join the Lemonade Day community.

Participate in our activities.

Attend our events.

Meet other parents.

Connect with mentors and business leaders.

Encourage your young entrepreneur to meet other young entrepreneurs.

Share what you're learning—and help someone else along the way.

Because we're not simply teaching kids how to sell lemonade.

We're helping them discover what they are capable of creating.

Today it might be a lemonade stand.

Tomorrow it might be a new product, a nonprofit, a neighborhood initiative, a technology company—or an idea none of us have imagined yet.

Every entrepreneur starts somewhere.

Sometimes, it starts with a cup of lemonade.
