I adore chameleons. This little guy (and two others) joined me for lunch today. This is one of the reasons why I prioritize spending time outdoors during my lunch break.
Disconnecting and unplugging from electronics is therapeutic for the body, mind and soul, improving your over all well-being and productivity. How?
1. It reduces stress and allows the brain to recover from cognitive overload. Time spent outdoors or in "green spaces" lowers cortisol levels and promotes calmness.
2. Enhancing mood and overall mental health by reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. When returning to work you feel more refreshed, positive and engaged.
3. Physical activity, including walking or standing, which accompanies spending time outdoors, contributes to better physical health, and reduces the health risks of prolonged sitting. Being outdoors increases creativity and problem-solving too.
Spending even a few minutes outdoors fosters mental and physical health, and promotes greater productivity and engagement.
