I came across this in my feed and thought it was important. My recommendation is that, rather than using PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp in this situation, Zelle should be used, if possible. Zelle is a bank-to-bank transfer, so it does not have the reporting requirements that PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp have. Using Zelle for personal reimbursements, such as for meals or other personal purchases, simplifies the process.
