True preventative health approaches involve being proactive in taking measures to maintain health and reduce the risk of illness and disease. The idea is to take actions even while still healthy. The old adage "if it ain't broke don't fix it" doesn't really work here because the body is broke. Degeneration of the body begins when we do (probably at conception). Free-radical cell damage occurs throughout our lifetime. But, we can take measures to slow the degenerative process:.consistent exercise; healthy diet; supplementation to compensate for the lack of sufficient nutrients in food; proper mind-set as mental health supports physical health. Waiting for a negative condition to begin is not "preventative". It is re-active. That is when we say: "I should have..." Life is a trade-off. We are compelled to take the easy and comfortable way out. Ask yourself whether that will pay in the long run. You don't need to be a fanatic, just prudent. Baby steps are better than no steps. What do you think?
