We’ve heard the term “Black Swan Event” over the past few years. What is a Black Swan Event?
Generational, defining events, that no one saw coming.
Covid was a Black Swan Event.
The Russia-Ukraine War was a Black Swan Event.
The war in Gaza was a Black Swan Event.
Going back several years:
9/11…
The Kennedy Assassination…
MLK Assassination…
Pearl Harbor…
The Great Depression…
Heck, even Julius Caesar and the Ides Of March.
What is the connecting thread between all these events?
No one knew what was coming.
But here’s the thing:
It’s okay NOT to know.
Because it’s all volatility: Human history has experienced major volatility many times before. And we’re still here.
Volatility is normal. In fact it’s’ damn well INEVITABLE.
What we’re experiencing — and could still experience in years to come — is normal volatility, normal uncertainty in geopolitics and the economy during our lifetime.
And it will keep happening, because it’s inevitable.
So don’t be surprised or dismayed by the current reality of the world: Recognize it as NORMAL.
The Mainstream Media, Social Media and so-called “experts” are in the BUSINESS of keeping you on edge…of keeping you alarmed.
So if you’re feeling uncomfortable about what’s been happening, congratulations: You’re human!
Your job is to be the Calm in the Eye Of The Storm.
You need to become the Pillar Of Strength that people look up to.
As a South Asian Poet once said:
Develop yourself to be so strong and resilient that even God asks you for your opinion.
So don’t be be alarmed.
Be fascinated instead.
