Food for thought:

The way people show up to networking events is the way people do business. The way people create social media posts is the way people do business. The way people send you emails with ridiculously long paragraphs that you have to find tiny letters reading "unsubscibe" is the way people do business.

In short, we can get the idea of how well someone does their professional from a slew of other things. If people are not trusting you when you are on the sales call pitching them, its likely because all the other interactions they have had with you did not agree with how they want to do business.
