With the warm weather approaching in many parts of the United States there are some hard and fast rules that will help keep you safe from harmful over exposure to the ultraviolet rays. Wearing sunscreen is at the top of the list. While the sun's rays can provide you with needed vitamins it can also harm you, if exposure is abused.
Wearing sunscreen will:
1. Protect you from over exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays.
2. Help prevent skin cancer and thereby, prolong your life.
3. Slow down the aging process. Yes! The sun will age you!
4. Protect you from hyperpigmentation and actinic keratosis.
Hyperpigmentation is often referred to as sunspots, liver spots, or age spots. It is areas of the body that are darker than other areas. It's difficult to reverse once it appears.
Actinic keratosis is a common pre-cancerous area on the body that has been over-exposed to the sun repeatedly. It requires immediate treatment and can be life threatening if left to develop further and active.
But there is light at the end of the tunnel! Mary Kay has brought back our Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50 for the body. We already have a Mineral version SPF 30 for the face. And we also have a soothing Aloe Vera Gel that is an after-sun treatment. We have some nice pre-order packages that will equip you well.
Think of it this way - your skin is the largest organ on your body. It requires care and attention to give you many healthy years.
