I feel led to share my journaled devotion with you today. I often use a technique called SOAP, where Observation, Application, and Prayer are centered around a specific Scripture verse. Here's what The Lord and I shared today.

Scripture: "Let us not neglect what is good and share what we have, for these sacrifices also please God" (Hebrews 13:16).

Observation: Sharing God's bounty with others pleases God. The lack of expectation of a return is a sign of our love and affectionate concern for others. God is our Helper, so why should we not model our lives after this profound act? Our generosity is a by-product of our assurance of God's on-time, perfect provision.

Application: In what ways can I show greater generosity? What fears/wrong beliefs hold me back? Why? What is one easy step I can take to change my level of blessing others without expectation of return?

Prayer: Lord, You are so generous to each created person and being. You provide for those who love and trust You, and even for those who don't. Time and again You have shown Yourself as "the God Who sees to it," Jehovah Jireh. I am not afraid to share Your blessings of abundance with others because You continually fill my hands. May I become the funnel through which Your blessings flow to those in my "world" as an act of extravagant praise to You. Amen.
