Beyond the Parkway: My Favorite Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge Escapes

The magic of the Smoky Mountains allows me to escape, relax, and rejuvenate, all while having the time of my life. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are so close together that a couple, a family, or an individual can stay at the Walden’s Creek Campground in Pigeon Forge. If you want something a little cozier, there is a great little hideaway I found at Bear Cove Cabins, which is located halfway between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. At both locations mentioned above, we enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature and the breathtaking mountain views. I like to get there in the evening so I can rest up and be ready early the next morning.
Activities, Food, and Fun

Day One: We start our day with breakfast. Then it’s off to play some Hillbilly Golf. At lunch, we eat at the Alamo Steakhouse & Saloon. After a big lunch, I need to walk it off, so I go to the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies and the Ripley's Penguin Playhouse, then it is off
to the Speedwerkz Exotic Car Experience. By this time, the day is almost gone, so we like to

go grab dinner and a show at Ole Red Gatlinburg, then back to the cabin to rest, because tomorrow we go to Pigeon Forge.
Day Two: After a light breakfast, we like to go to the Lost Mine Mountain Coaster & Mini-Golf. Then we eat a light lunch because it is off to Dollywood’s Splash Country to cool off. After that, we go to the Space Race Adventures for some racing fun. By this time, the day is almost done, so we grab dinner and a show at one of several wonderful places.
There is so much to do at both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, I strongly suggest that you try to plan each day out as I did. The longer you can stay, the more attractions and fun you can experience. You can get the Gatlinburg travel planner guide and the Pigeon Forge travel planner
guide. So, go ahead and plan that special vacation today.
