Skyler Network is a service provider of community software as a service.
Skyler Network is a Service of Skyler Networks, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you.
It covers your visits to our Website (skyler.network), your participation in a Skyler Network, and your use of our mobile applications.
Hosts decide who can join their Skyler Network. Hosts also decide whether to offer paid Member subscriptions.
To offer a personalized experience, we collect personal information about you (“Personal Data”). This policy describes how we collect, use, and share your Personal Data with your Host, other Members, and third parties.
It applies to your use of the Service, the Website, and our mobile applications.
Unless defined here, capitalized words have the same meaning as in the Skyler Network Terms of Use. This Privacy Policy is part of those Terms.
When you visit our Website, join or create a Network, interact with us or your Host through the Service, or use our mobile applications, we collect Personal Data and other information from you (collectively, “Data”).
We act as the service provider for your Host in doing this.
We use your Personal Data to provide the Service to you:
Data does not include Your Content or User Generated Content. As our Terms of Use explain, you (and the people you license Your Content from) keep complete ownership of Your Content.
By posting Your Content on the Service, you grant us a license to use it. You and your licensors still own it.
Key terms.
We store and use your Personal Data together with an ID we assign each time you join a new Skyler Network. You get one ID per Skyler Network, so your experience is personalized in each one.
Name and email address.
When you register as a Host or Member, we ask for your real name and email address. Both we and the Host of your Skyler Network can access this information. We use it to communicate with you about the Service.
We and your Host may also use your email address to tell you about products or services we believe may interest you.
If you are a paying Host or Member, we may also collect your mailing address and zip code for billing. Hosts may also choose to collect your mailing address through our Service.
Social media profiles.
You can register with your Facebook or LinkedIn account. When you do, you give us permission to access your profile and photo. They become part of your Skyler Network profile.

Profiles and Topics.
When you join a Skyler Network, you are prompted to add a profile, including a short bio. You also choose topics to follow (“Topics”). We use this information to personalize your experience in each Skyler Network.
Your Host can also choose and customize the categories of Personal Data to collect from you. With your agreement, this may include Special Categories of Personal Data.
Your location.
We ask for your location so we can facilitate interactions with other Members in your area. If you opt in, our mobile app also collects your GPS location.
If you enable location features, or do not disable GPS on your mobile device, other Members may be able to see your location.
Other Personal Data you provide directly.
You may give us Personal Data when you use certain features of the Service. Examples include joining conversations or polls in your Networks, contacting us with inquiries, or responding to a survey.
When you agree to take part in a recorded livestream or other Skyler Network event, you share your voice and the image of your face on camera.
Integrated Services.
You can register using an Integrated Service, such as Facebook. If you do, your profile picture and other Personal Data from that service become part of your Skyler Network profile.

Your use of the Service and Website.
Our servers automatically record your visits to the Service and the Website. Like most website and mobile app servers, ours keeps a log of each page you visit.
The log records the date, time, browser (for example, Firefox), device type (for example, iPhone), operating system (for example, Android), and originating IP address.
Cookies and similar technologies.
We use cookies and other technologies to collect information about your visits. Cookies are text files placed on your computer by websites to collect standard log and visitor behavior information.

We may also collect other data about your visit, such as search requests and results.
We use this information for our legitimate interests. These include tracking usage of our Service and counting unique visitors to its different sections.
They also help us understand how Members find and join Skyler Network (ad effectiveness) and make the Service more valuable to every Host and Member. This use is called “analytics,” and the information is often aggregated.
Sometimes we or our service providers, such as Google, use hashed data instead of cookies. One example is hashed email addresses, used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
Mobile applications.
Our iOS (Apple) and Android (Google) apps must interact with our servers. We assign your device a token so you do not have to log in every time you use the Service through our apps.
Managing cookies.
You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to tell you when a cookie is being sent. Some Service features may not work properly without cookies.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically but allow you to disable them. For more information, visit allaboutcookies.org.
Information about your location.
From your IP address, we can tell generally where you are when you access our Service, such as which city. We start by choosing a location for you based on your Internet connection’s IP address.
You can update or remove this location at any time by logging in to your account.
Third-party cookies for site analysis.
We use third parties, such as Google, to help us analyze how people use our Service. We use Google Analytics to get demographic data about our Visitors, Hosts, and Members, such as age and gender.
Google uses a cookie that Google or its affiliate DoubleClick can recognize when you visit other websites. To learn how Google collects, uses, and shares your information, visit the Google Privacy Policy – Partners page.
Third-party cookies used to target Host ads on other websites.
“Beacons” are transparent pixel images used to collect information about website usage across websites and over time. Our Hosts may use their own or third-party cookies or beacons to target Host ads to you on other websites.
Hosts may also work with other companies that use their own cookies or beacons. These companies may target third-party ads to you based on your prior visits to the Host’s Network on our Service.
This is called online behavioral advertising (“OBA”), because you receive ads based on your prior online behavior. We do not have access to these cookies. Third parties engage in OBA.
Third-party cookies used to target Skyler Network ads on other websites.
We work with third parties to serve ads about the Service on websites, platforms, and services they own or operate. These ads are often aimed at Site Visitors or Skyler Network Members.
Personalizing your Skyler Network experience is an important part of our Service. We want you to understand what Personal Data is shared with your Hosts, other Members, other Hosts or Members of our Service, and third parties.
If you are not comfortable with this type of sharing, don’t use our Service.
Third Parties include service providers we authorize, through a data processing agreement, to process your personal data or information. They help us with:
We do not permit these service providers to use your personal data for any other purpose. We do not share Personal Data with any person or company unless we have an agreement that controls their use of the data.
Your Host.
Your Host (or Hosts, if there is more than one) can access your name, email address, and all personal or contact information you provide when you register for that Host’s Skyler Network.
To help facilitate Member engagement, your Host can also access data about your usage activity, in both aggregated and personally identifiable forms.
For example, Hosts can see aggregated Member activity within a Skyler Network. They can also see specific details, such as how many people cheered in response to a comment you made.
Your Host can associate Your Content, and any Personal Information it contains, with your contact information.
Your Host may communicate with you outside the Service about the Skyler Network or topics relevant to you. Your Host may also keep your personal information after you leave the Skyler Network, unless you request otherwise.
Hosts have committed in the Skyler Network Terms of Use to comply with applicable laws and regulations on handling Data. They have also committed not to sell your information to third parties.
Only join a Skyler Network if you are comfortable sharing your personal information with its Host. If your Host has an additional privacy policy, review it carefully to understand how your Host may use Personal Data.
Searching and messaging by others.
Visitors to our Service may be able to search for you by name and location if you are a Member of a Skyler Network.
Members of your Skyler Network can search for you by location, Topics, or other personal information so they can message you within the Network.
Whether other Visitors and Members can see your information depends on whether the Skyler Network is Paid, Public, Private, or Secret.

A Host can make a Skyler Network Public, Private, Secret, or Paid:
Personal information included in Your Content.
If you include personal information in Your Content, it is displayed to other Members based on the privacy levels described above.
Integrated Services.
If you register using an Integrated Service, such as Facebook, we share your information with the operators of that service. See the “Integrated services” section below for details.
Business transfers.
As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. If there is a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution, or similar event, Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets.
Agents, consultants, and third parties we have contracts with.
Skyler Network, Inc., like many businesses, sometimes hires other companies to perform business-related functions. Examples include emailing information to you, maintaining our Website, databases, and mobile applications, processing payments, marketing and advertising, marketing research and analysis, and customer service.
We give these companies only the Personal Data and information they need for their specific function.
We do not authorize them to use or disclose your personal information except as necessary to perform their tasks or to comply with legal requirements.

We may disclose your Personal Data if the law requires it. We may also disclose it if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:
We disclose aggregated statistics, such as the number of Hosts and Members. We do this to describe our Service to current and prospective business partners and to our Third Party service providers, for our legitimate interests and other lawful purposes.
You have rights regarding the Personal Data and information we hold about you.

We keep your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service to you. We also keep and use it to comply with laws, including tax laws.
We may keep your Personal Data as necessary for backup, archiving, audit, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and troubleshooting.
You decide which Skyler Network to join. You also decide whether you trust your Host with the information sharing described in this policy.
A Host can make a Skyler Network Public, Private, Secret, or Paid, as described above.
In your account settings, you can control the frequency, type, and mode of notifications you receive. You can choose email alerts, mobile alerts, both, or neither.
You can also turn notifications on or off by type, such as cheers on your posts or direct chat messages.
If you have agreed to receive marketing messages from us, you can opt out at any time. Each email includes an opt-out link at the bottom.
We plan our communications in advance, so it may take several weeks for your opt-out to take effect. If you keep receiving marketing messages from us or a Host after you opt out, let us know so we can investigate.

We do not have access to cookies or other tracking technologies placed on your device by non-affiliated third parties, such as ad technology providers, ad servers, or ad networks. This Privacy Policy does not govern them.

You will continue to receive generic ads.

Some browsers and browser extensions support the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”). GPC sends websites a signal that you want to opt out of certain data processing, including data “sales” as defined under certain laws.
In certain territories, when we detect this signal, we make reasonable efforts to respect your choice as required by applicable law.
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting that signals you do not want to be tracked. Unlike GPC, there is no common understanding of how to interpret DNT.
Our Website and Service therefore do not respond to DNT signals.
You can instead use the cookie controls and advertising controls described above.
iOS and Android offer options to limit tracking and to reset advertising IDs.
You can leave one or more Skyler Networks, or delete your Skyler Network account (on a Network-by-Network basis).
As soon as you leave, we stop collecting your Personal Data for that Skyler Network.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to Personal Data collected by Skyler Network, Inc. outside the Service, such as in a telephone call.
It also does not apply to unsolicited information you provide through the Service or any other means. This includes information posted in public areas of the Service, and ideas for new products or changes to existing products (together, “Unsolicited Information”).
Unsolicited Information is deemed non-confidential. Skyler Network, Inc. may reproduce and use it without limitation or attribution. We respect your copyrights in Your Content, as outlined in our Terms of Use.
Skyler Network cannot control the actions of Hosts or other Members. If you have a privacy-related dispute with a Host or Member, contact that person directly.
If you believe a Host or Member has violated this Privacy Policy or our Acceptable Use Policy, let us know at help@skyler.network.
Skyler Network does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Service or submit any Personal Data through it.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided Personal Data through the Service, contact us at help@skyler.network. We will look to delete that information from our databases.
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Service. The Service may link to websites we do not operate or control (“Third Party Sites”). Our policies and procedures do not apply to those sites.
These links do not mean Skyler Network, Inc. endorses or has reviewed the Third Party Sites. Contact those sites directly for their privacy policies and practices.
For example, when you click through from a Skyler Network to a YouTube channel, YouTube collects personal information under the YouTube privacy policy.
Members can enable third-party services, such as Facebook and LinkedIn (each, an “Integrated Service”), to integrate directly into their Skyler Network. This makes your use of Skyler Network richer and more personalized.
To enable one, we ask you to authorize Skyler Network to access the Integrated Service (or vice versa).
When you add an Integrated Service account to a Skyler Network (or vice versa), the following may be passed to or received from the Integrated Service:
We may import, use, disclose, and retain this data to customize and improve the Service for you and others. Integrated Services may also import, use, and retain it.
You may be able to control how certain information is shared with us in your privacy settings within each Integrated Service.
If you integrate your Skyler Network with an Integrated Service, we may share your information with it. This may happen when you first register, when you log in, or in emails and other communications consistent with this policy.
From time to time, we may share your Personal Data and anonymous data with Integrated Services. This includes your location, Skyler Network Membership, Skyler Network URL, and use of certain features.
We do this to facilitate and enhance your use of those services.
Integrated Services are not provided by us. Their Terms of Use and other policies govern your use of them.
The way Integrated Services collect, use, store, and disclose your information is governed solely by their own policies. This Privacy Policy does not cover information you or we provide to them.
We have no liability or responsibility for their privacy practices or actions.
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption, aggregation, and pseudonymization.
No Internet, email, or other electronic transmission is ever 100% secure or error free. We cannot guarantee that your Personal Data will never be accessed, used, or disclosed.
Take special care in deciding what information you share on the Service.
“Phishing” is a scam designed to steal your Personal Data or information. If you receive an email that looks like it is from us asking for information about you, contact us at help@skyler.network.

Our Service is provided from within the United States and is subject to United States state and federal laws.
If you are located outside the United States, your Personal Data is transferred to, stored, used, and shared in the United States.

We have no liability or responsibility for the privacy policies or practices of our Hosts, or for the actions of any Integrated Service enabled within the Service.

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, Skyler Network requests read/write access to your calendar data through the following Google API scopes only:
We use this access to power the following in-app features, at your request:
To generate the text for these features, calendar data is sent to our AI language-model provider (OpenAI) and, for attendee look-ups, to a web-search provider. Data is sent in real time and only for the specific action you take.
The data is processed live to generate your response. It is not stored, logged, cached, or reused afterward. It is never used to train, retrain, or improve any AI or machine-learning model, whether ours or a third party’s.
Skyler Network’s use of information received from Google Workspace APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data from connected Google Calendars is used only to power the requesting Member’s own in-app features. It is never sold or transferred except as necessary to provide that feature.
You can disconnect your Google Calendar at any time from your account settings. You can also revoke Skyler Network’s access from your Google Account’s third-party access permissions page.
