Local small business is just plain feeling the squeeze. External challenges combined with relevant internal challenges - a lack of time, resources, and incessant work environment prevent them from properly marketing and advertising their business. Mystery on Main Street (MoMS) is creating a true phygital experience to help change this by making shopping local, fun, exciting, and rewarding in the process! What is phygital? Phygital (physical plus digital) combines interactive digital experiences with physical ones. We use interactive storytelling written by local human writers combined with AI (artificial intelligence), AR (augmented reality) and gamification to incentivize physical shopping, consumption, social activity and just general discovery of local businesses and events leading to revitalized communities and sustained economic growth. Plus, our data uncovers the all-important “silent shopper” (the “just looking” crowd).

Imagine new customers, incentivized to go into your business, interested in what you have. Mystery on Main Street is creating a unique interactive, big data marketing and advertising mobile application utilizing AR, AI and gamification to promote patronization of local B2C walk-in businesses, which leads to sustained economic community growth. Each “gameplay” uses “whodunit” storylines to take players into locations they’ve chosen to receive clues and solve a mystery. Players must enter these locations but no interaction with location personnel required. The first player to solve the mystery receives a valuable prize. The app collects demographic data including the silent shopper (those “just looking”) for non-invasive pin-point advertising unavailable elsewhere. Think of this as Groupon meets scavenger hunt and Pokémon Go, but players and participating merchants mutually gain with no membership or subscription required.
